Getting started

Follow these steps to go from zero to a working AI support experience on your website. You can skip straight to API reference if you are integrating programmatically.

1. Create your workspace

Sign up at peopleloop.io/signup. You will create an organization (your company or project) and your owner account. Use a work email you can access for billing and security notifications.

2. Complete onboarding

The in-app onboarding flow helps you name your bot, set expectations for visitors, and connect the pieces you need first. You can revisit settings anytime from the dashboard.

3. Add knowledge

Your agent answers from the content you provide: uploaded documents (for example PDFs and Word files), site or help-center URLs, and structured knowledge you maintain in the product. Better source material means fewer wrong answers and fewer unnecessary escalations.

  • Start with the docs customers already ask about most.
  • Refresh content when pricing, policies, or products change.
  • Keep one source of truth — duplicate or outdated pages confuse any model.

4. Tune tone and guardrails

Configure how the agent speaks (tone, brand voice) and when it should stop and hand off. Escalation to humans is a core feature on eligible plans — see Pricing for plan limits.

5. Embed the widget

Install the snippet on your marketing site, app shell, or customer portal. The widget loads our hosted script and reads your public configuration. You will find org-specific embed instructions inside the product after setup.

If something does not appear, check ad blockers, CSP (Content Security Policy) rules, and that the page is served over HTTPS in production. More troubleshooting lives in Help center.

6. Operate and improve

Use Live Support and analytics in the app to review conversations, train on real questions, and adjust knowledge when the same issue keeps appearing. Iteration is normal — treat your agent like a product, not a one-time setup.
